Registered with the Ministry of Education in China, Changshu Institute of Technology is a fully accredited college in Jiangsu Province. Situated in the picturesque city of Changshu, which was awarded the ¡®International Garden City¡¯ and is celebrated for its splendid history and for being a place where many top talents are educated. Founded in 1958, the Changshu Institute of Technology is a multi-disciplined university and educates its students mainly in areas of science and technology, applied technologies and teacher¡¯s education. The institute now has 11 departments and 2 colleges with 38 specialties and enrolls nearly 11,800 full time students. The available specialties range from science to technology, literature, law, history studies, economics, education and management.

With a 921-strong faculty, among which more than 220 are associate and full professors, the Institute has more than 600 full time lecturers and more than 430 hold master and PHD degrees.

Covering an area of 860,000 square meters, the Institute now has nearly 400,000 square meters of floor space. Its library book collection stands at 772,000 and 554,000 for hard and electronic copies respectively and its journal collection has reached 1,700.

The Institute has always attached great importance to external exchange and cooperation and recent years the school has dispatched its experts and scholars to countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Israel and India for academic activities. Throughout the years, the Institute has employed more than 80 expatriate teachers from countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Japan, Denmark and Finland.
